Through slow & meticulous research, RD tech has been proven to work best on lightly retted crops cut 2″ above the ground. Ideal specimens are sown at a rate of 300 seeds per sq. metre dual purpose (seed/fiber) variety. Exceptional peeling has been recorded on X-59, Anka, Delores & Alyssa strains. Canfiber is counting on PAMI to complete development of their double-cut windrower that is designed to cut down the crop to the ground in one pass, leaving a windrow of 4 foot long stalks & windrow of tops to ret & ripen in the field. Utilizing their flax baler & expects to receive the bales to test in its prototype system in the fall.
